My first REAL yarn shop. April 15, 2006

I only started knitting a few years ago.  My first experience with a “real” yarn shop was amazing.  The shop was gorgeous inside and out.  It was a few short blocks from my home in downtown Rochester, Michigan.  I have since moved to Texas to be closer to family and away from the cold winters.  But I still like to visit their web site and recieve their newsletters.  If I am ever not able to find a fiber that I need, I make sure to give Skeins on Main a call and see if they have what I need.

My Favorite Yarn Shop

Knitty: Tendrils

This is my favorite design from the Spring Issue of Knitty.com.  If you have a chance go to the designer’s site as well to check out her fabulous beaded designs.

Tendrils brings to mind the first tender shoots that appear in Spring. The lace makes it look light and open, but in actuality the stole is quite substantial because of the beaded cables that run up and down its length. This combination gives the piece a sensual quality.
