My first REAL yarn shop.

skeins on main.jpgI only started knitting a few years ago.  My first experience with a “real” yarn shop was amazing.  The shop was gorgeous inside and out.  It was a few short blocks from my home in downtown Rochester, Michigan.  I have since moved to Texas to be closer to family and away from the cold winters.  But I still like to visit their web site and recieve their newsletters.  If I am ever not able to find a fiber that I need, I make sure to give Skeins on Main a call and see if they have what I need.

  1. Cool idea, Deb! I’ll have to let my knitting friends know!

This is a great organization and making the squares is a good way to practice knitting.

  3. I was looking for the name of the yarn shop in Rochester Michigan where I used to spend many wonderful Saturday mornings knitting with friends and sharing “stories” ;-). I came across your post and thought how ironic that someone had the same story as I do. I also live in Texas now, and although I love living here, it’s sad that knitting isn’t as popular as it is in Michigan. The only knitting group here in Eastern Texas is in Tyler, and they meet during the week when I can’t attend (I’m a business woman)…..
